Station

Equipment

I know we’re never really done setting up a shack and antennas, but my remote shack is pretty much done — as of what I have today, anyway, unless the inevitable happens and I find something else I need. Below are pictures of the current shack and antenna setup.

Remote Shack — Updated & Upgraded!!!
I’m happy to share some photos of the updated and upgraded remote site shack. Please enjoy, and share your thoughts.

Antenna Disconnect & Weather Automation
This antenna disconnect system will let me remotely disconnect my antennas from the radio using an internet-controlled relay switch. I also plan to use Node-RED flows with OpenWeatherMap to disconnect the antennas automatically when the forecast shows thunderstorms or lightning, with the system notifying me by email or SMS.

Previous Setup (for reference)
An earlier version of the remote station, then under development, ran a Flex 6400, Icom 7100, and Acom 600S amp, with antennas: Explorer 14 (10-15-20) plus a 40m kit, D3W (12-17-30), a 6m adapted LFA, a 144 MHz yagi, and the Ultimax DX-Extreme EFD (6–160).
